Samantha Jogoleff 4 months agoWe first tried Loud Mouth at Austin Monthly’s Best Restaurants event last December and it was our FAVORITE bite of the whole night, so we had to make sure we checked out their spot to see if it held up. Spoiler: it did! The space is SO cute. It’s a renovated historic home with a big outdoor picnic seating area, plus indoor booths, tables, and a bar area inside the house. It’s one of those spots that works for date night, happy hour, or families (tons of room outside for kids to run around). We went for happy hour (they have it DAILY, just check the times as weekend is different then weekday) and we also wanted to test out the inKind app. Everything worked seamlessly! We asked to sit in the bar area and our bartender was awesome! She was friendly and attentive, even though she was the only one making drinks. She let me sample both frozen options (which were fabulous), and I ended up doing a half-and-half (per her suggestion) of the Creamsicle + Painkiller. Strong, smooth, easy to drink… dangerous in the best way! Honestly one of the best frozen's I've had and I'm not typically a frozen drink girl. It was a little chilly in the bar area (and not just because of the frozen drinks ), but she even offered to turn up the heat. When our focaccia came out later than expected, she automatically comped it, which we appreciated. Food highlights: • Meatballs + Focaccia – Just as good as we remembered. Flavorful, comforting, and perfect for sharing. The bread is deliciously crispy, but you definitely need more then what it is served with to enjoy all the sauce. • Italian Sandwich – The ROCKSTAR. Even though the bread was softer than we’d usually prefer for this style, it was loaded and packed with flavor. 1000% would eat this again! • Joe’s Pie – Tasty, felt more Neapolitan style and had a good chew and flavor. Especially loved the mushrooms and olives on it! • Warm seeded Focaccia – SO FLUFFY! Overall, the atmosphere, service, and variety on the menu make this a spot we’ll absolutely keep coming back to. Loud Mouth lives up to the hype!
Carolina 2 months agoI almost never write reviews. But, wow. I’m so glad we chose this spot. I’ve lived in Austin my whole life and this place is definitely one I’m going to start recommending to friends. Right off the bat, the host was very sweet and welcoming. Our server, Harris was AMAZING! I can confidently say it’s one of the best dinning experiences I’ve had. Such a huge shout out to him. Food wise, the warm seeded focaccia was to die for! The Cesar salad & brussel sprouts were the stars of the show. Best Cesar salad I’ve had. Will definitely be coming back.
Alexandra Fox a month agoI’ve visited twice now and adored it both times! This time around, I was legally allowed to drink so I ordered the Pep Talk drink and didn’t love it, but my partner and friend did. With this, my vegetarian friend was able to eat with us. We were also sat in an adorable little booth. Just love it here!!
Rohun Rajaram 3 months agoLoudmouth is a great weeknight date spot! We had the Arancini, as well as the hot Boy Summer and Michelangelo Pizzas. The food and service were excellent, and the decor inside was so well done! Will definitely be coming back.
sandy putnam 6 months agoI've been on the hunt for a great NY style pizza for a while. There was a top 10 list by a critic in the Statesman recently - and we have now gone to many of those on the list - this was one of those places listed! The restaurant is lovely - in a historic building, with an inviting interior. They also have a great setup outside with many picnic tables and wooden benches. The pizza is thin crust, with crunchy edge - and OH SO TASTY. Some of the pizzas we have tried in other places had no flavor to the crust. This pizza had a great crust - deep oaky flavor from a wood fired oven. Our waiter Connor was very helpful, friendly and efficient. We asked for suggestions and he pointed us to a couple of pizzas (Joe's pie, Señor Pastor, Hot Boy Summer ) but each had things on them that I couldn't have (dietary restrictions). So we ordered the Margherita (more like a normal cheese pizza) and the Michelangelo (mozzarella, goat cheese, green onion, chives, chili powder, garlic oil, grilled lemon). We ordered the warm seeded focaccia to start with whipped honey garlic butter and olive oil. Bread was piping hot, tender crumb, and tasty. Pizza - both were amazing! The margherita - crust was crunchy at the edges, but a little soggy toward the middle. Had to use knife and fork for the first bite! They also put grated parm on top - I could do without it. Pizza was very good tho - sauce had great flavor with just the right amount of cheese for that stringy pull when you bite a piece off! The Michelangelo - I had the chili powder put on the side. What makes this a great pizza? That grilled lemon - you squeeze some on the pizza and it perfectly balances out the flavors with that little bit of acid bite. This pie was crunchier than the other - and we both loved it! We did try dessert. Hubs had the tiramisu - which was housemade. It had great flavor - and a wonderfully yellow marscapone made in house also - but it needed to set more. It's served like a soufflé - in a ramekin - vs cut into a square. The lady fingers could have soaked up more of the liquor. He thought that there wasn't a lot of coffee flavor, but he is very picky about his tiramisu. He thought this was good, but was not a traditional one. We also tried the ricotta doughnuts which come with home made blueberry/lemon jam and pistachio sauce (which was a lot like peanut butter!) These were good, but a bit too rich/heavy after pizza! Overall - definitely will be back! Great Service, food and atmosphere!
