Joey Gray a month agoWe rolled into Austin right about 5PM on a Thursday and went straight to Home Slice for the very first time. There wasn’t a wait, and we were seated in a very comfortable booth right away. A waitress took our drink orders and we settled into looking at the vastness of the menu. I am always looking for one specific thing at a pizza joint and that is the Queen Margherita, which my wife and I ordered. The thin crust, fresh tomatoes, and fresh shredded basil has secured this Margherita as a top contender on my list of best pizzas. My kids shared a pepperoni and a slice of cheese. I was also really wanting to try some of the White, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could order a slice of White with mushrooms. The slices are giant! The atmosphere is dim, dark, and cozy. The bathrooms are fancy, and have anything a man could need for freshening up 😄 My kid’s favorite thing is that there is a play area outside that is fenced and has turf covered berms for the little ones to run around on. It was also nice to chill outside while my pizza settled, and finish my beer as the kids played. Parking can be tricky, but we found a fairly close spot on a street. Trust me though, it’s worth the trouble to park and get some of this pizza.
Danny DeBruine 2 months agoBest NY style pizza I’ve ever had. We had been eating our way through Austin all day and weren’t even hungry but had to try this pizza and we’re glad we did! Thin crust still kept its integrity, toppings were great and overall flavors were just delicious. Just got slices from the window but even the service for that was amazing. They give you a number and bring the slices to you. Nice touch. Highly recommend!
Aquilla M. 2 months agoStopped by for lunch and was greeted by a friendly face. I didn’t make it inside as I saw they had a walk up order window outside. Ordering was quick and easy and the gentleman who took my order offered me complimentary water which was perfect for this hot day. The pizza was reasonably priced and I was left wishing I’d ordered a second slice 🤤. The pizza tasted light and fresh, not too greasy and it was a decent size! Looking forward to coming back to enjoy the chill vibes again and check out inside!
Manze Silva 6 months agoThis place is good, I love the pizza. It's delicious we got the standard pizza, pepperoni and mushroom. I wouldn't recommend the garlic knots, when they were given to us they weren't garlicky? It was just a crunchy bread roll. They have a bar and it looks great. A separate area for ordering out. I will come back to order out. I don't recommend sitting down because finding parking is difficult. I got lucky because someone was leaving but the parking lot is a bit small. So do be careful when you enter and leave. I don't recommend parking at anyones house because that's just rude. The service was a bit a sketchy when we asked for a box they took our food and placed it in a bag? With a paper plate? I have no idea who we pissed off but it is what it is. Also I understand that it was a busy time the more we were there but we had like 3 different servers. Which was usual because you usually have the same one. The noise level is a bit loud too so make sure to be prepared for that. This is a candle lit dinner and it was a very nice set up they had, booths, high tables, small tables, a bar. Will return to try the subs and wings because they sound delicious and the pizza alone was able to back it up.
Emilio Caamano 5 months agoSuch an amazing experience at Home Slice Pizza. This place is an Austin classic for a reason. Great food, awesome service, and an atmosphere that feels both laid-back and iconic. The pizza was fantastic—simple, high quality, and incredibly satisfying. If you’re in Austin and love great pizza, this spot should be on your list.
