Pizza was pretty good... now strap in while I embellish on that. So, I got a whole 18"? (The middle size) 'Highway' and it did lots of things right. The crust was excellent, bordering on perfect. It was pretty thin but not paper, it had a good crispness to it, no notes. The toppings were pretty great, lots of them, could taste everything. But, I don't know if it needs salt, or a pinch of sugar in the sauce, or what. The sauce was not bad tasting, but was just pretty non-flavorful and boring in general. Definitely not a bad pizza by any means, good even. But I cant help to think it might be incredible if something in the pizza was just a bit brighter (and the sauce would be it i'd assume, seeing's it was the part that was least interesting. Dousing it with the grated parm did fix it like 70%, making it a pretty top-tier pie, but you shouldn't have to do that. Ok. The wife had a single slice of cheese and the crust was not crisp, the cheese was just cheese, same sauce, I would not order a single slice of cheese pizza here. The Cheese Garlic breadsticks were also meh. I'd get the garlic again, but the cheese was not an interesting cheese. It was melty, and I am sure is of good quality, it's just not notable. The sticks themselves were very much pizza crust like. It really seemed that it probably is pizza crust, just in a thicker 4"×8" square, cut into six smallish pieces. The sauce with the sticks did seem like it had salt in it, and was pretty decent. But as a generality the sticks were unneccessary. I ordered them assuming they would cone out before the pizza and serve as an appetizer, but they came out after the pizzas arrived. Oh well. The side salad is a normal romaine side salad in a little plastic container. Quite a few mushrooms. Fine, fresh, crispy, just nothing special. So. Takeways. Imo the whole pie is the thing to get here. It is quite good, but man... so close to perfection. And if you ordered the right toppings ('penos, pepperoncini, pineapple, maybe bacon) it would probably help. Still very good pizza, everything else we had didn't really need to be ordered. Service was good. Prices were a touch high but probably fair for the neighborhood. Parking was slim but available. There were not many people at the reaturaunt, if it was hoppin' there would be no parking. Probably took 15 minutes from ordering until the whole pie came out. Positive experience, would go back but probably won't crave. Thanks!

What a find! Was at UMKC for our grandson's event and need lunch. Found this place on maps and are glad we did. Pizza was fantastic! Lots of toppings, perfectly baked. Cheese bread sticks were LOADED with cheese. Wife and daughter loved the salads, too. We don't live real close, but look forward to returning for some of the best pizza in KC.

The food is good, not exceptional but consistently good and the atmosphere is fun. However, the service for my pick up order was TERRIBLE! I placed my order on line and showed up on time, 20 minutes after placing my order which was confirmed. The young woman at the counter went to check on my order and came back nearly 10 minutes later after waiting on multiple tables and said the kitchen had not started my ordee yet. She offered to comp my next visit (as if I am going back) or "expedite" my order. I said to go ahead and prepare the order. Absolutely ZERO discount for their error. Most places that care about customer service would have comp'ed the meal as an apology. Not Pizza 51. If you plan to eat in or order via Door Dash or similar you are probably OK, but do not expect decent service for pick up. And no, they were not very busy. Good bye Pizza 51. There are lots of options in the neighborhood for good pizza that value their customers.

I did two different slices.Slice #1...pineapple, Canadian bacon, cream cheese, bacon and onion slice was my favorite. Slice #2...The cow town minus the black olives and mushrooms was good too. Self serve drinks with free refills. Outdoor patio area was nice today with the games showing. Service was great and food arrived hot and fresh.

Fun atmosphere, the pizza was cooked perfectly and tasted so good. The marinara sauce may be my new favorite. The buffalo wings were great as well, rubbed and sauced very well. The service with friendly and everyone had a smile on their face. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick, local pizza joint
